Wallpaper for Los Angeles Architects
LA-area architect support
Los Angeles architectural projects come with a specific set of requirements: Title 24 compliance for energy and indoor air quality, fire ratings that satisfy LAFD review, and increasingly, sustainability targets driven by both client expectations and city policy. Applied Coverings prints custom wallcoverings to those specs, with a Los Angeles office at 12424 Wilshire Boulevard supporting LA-area architectural firms on residential and commercial work. Manufacturing is at our San Jose, California facility — same state, same time zone, no offshore wait times for revisions or substitutions.
The trade program for LA architects is free and unlocks dedicated rep support, full spec documentation, and direct access to test reports, SDS sheets, CSI 3-part specs, and LEED contribution worksheets.
Spec-grade materials and full documentation
Our two Type II commercial wallcoverings are the standard architectural specs:
- Suede Type II ($6/sqft) — Class A fire rating per ASTM E84 (FSI ≤25, SDI ≤450), scrubbable per ASTM F793, soft brushed face, ideal for hospitality and corporate interiors.
- Terralon Smooth Type II ($6.50/sqft) — LEED Platinum-compliant with recycled content, contributes to MR credits, low-VOC water-based ink printing for IEQ credits.
For lighter-traffic residential and TI work: Pre-Pasted ($5/sqft), Peel & Stick Canvas ($5.50/sqft), and Peel & Stick Linen ($7.50/sqft). Full data on the materials we use page.

LEED, Title 24, and California compliance
For California projects, the relevant compliance considerations:
- Title 24 — our materials and inks are CARB-compliant and meet California's indoor air quality requirements. Documentation available on request.
- LEED — Terralon Smooth Type II is LEED Platinum-compliant. Recycled content and regional manufacturing (San Jose, within 500 miles of any LA project) contribute to MR credits.
- CALGreen — low-VOC inks meet CALGreen mandatory measures for non-residential and high-rise residential projects.
- Fire compliance — Class A rating documented per ASTM E84, with Smoke Developed Index well within commercial occupancy requirements.

Substitution support for LA projects
If a competing wallcovering is the basis-of-design and our materials are being considered for substitution approval, your trade rep will pull a side-by-side spec comparison — fire rating, abrasion class, install method, warranty term — to make the substitution package straightforward to write. Common substitution approvals: legacy commercial vinyl brands replaced with Suede Type II or Terralon Smooth Type II for cost, sustainability, or domestic manufacturing reasons.
