Custom Wallpaper for Interior Designers
Made for the design trade
Interior designers don't buy wallpaper the way homeowners do. You're spec'ing across a project, balancing scale and palette against fixtures and textiles you've already locked in, and the install window is rarely flexible. Applied Coverings prints custom wallpaper to fit how designers actually work — five materials with documented specs, custom sizing on every order, panel-level labeling for the install crew, and a trade rep who can answer a question in an hour, not three days.
We've spent more than a decade printing for residential designers and boutique commercial firms across the country. Every roll ships from our San Jose facility, with offices in San Francisco and Los Angeles for local pickup and project consultations. The trade program is free, gives you free material samples on demand, and unlocks designer-only pricing details and the full trade lookbook.
Our pattern library and custom upload
Two paths into our catalog:
- Browse the full pattern library — roughly 490 designs spanning botanicals, geometrics, traditional damasks, contemporary abstracts, kids and nursery, and trend-forward statement prints. Every design can be re-scaled and re-colored to a project palette.
- Upload your own artwork through our custom wallpaper tool — high-resolution photography, original illustration, or commissioned art prints as wallpaper. Same five materials, same trade benefits, same 5–7 day turnaround.
If you've used our residential wallpaper page on a client's spec sheet before, the trade portal pulls from the same library — just with the friction removed.
Free samples for verified designers
Approved trade members get free samples on the materials and patterns you're actively spec'ing. Sample packs include the actual print, on the actual material, at full production quality — not a generic swatch card. Request through your dedicated rep, ship to your studio, share with the client, and reorder full panels when the spec is locked.
This is the part that matters most: clients trust what they can touch. A Suede Type II swatch on the desk closes a hospitality spec faster than a hundred PDF mood boards.
Pricing and turnaround
Trade pricing is per-square-foot on the material, with no minimums on residential orders:
- Pre-Pasted — $5/sqft
- Peel & Stick Canvas — $5.50/sqft
- Suede Type II — $6/sqft
- Terralon Smooth Type II — $6.50/sqft
- Peel & Stick Linen — $7.50/sqft
Standard production is 5–7 business days from artwork approval, with free shipping nationwide. Rush production is available — talk to your rep early so we can hold a slot. We also include a 30-day return policy on stocked materials (custom prints excluded, naturally).
Designer-friendly features
The details that make a project run smoothly:
- Custom sizing — every order is cut to the wall measurements, not standard rolls. We work in panels sized to the install plan.
- Panel labeling — every panel ships numbered and sequenced left-to-right, with installation diagrams when the design includes a directional pattern or mural.
- Install support — our installation instructions cover all five materials, and your rep can connect installers with our local crews in SF, San Jose, and LA when needed.
- Re-color and re-scale — most patterns in our library can be color-shifted to a project palette or scaled up/down. Your rep handles the proof workflow.
Project examples and case studies
The trade portfolio includes residential and boutique commercial projects from designers we work with regularly — half-baths with statement botanicals, kids' rooms with custom illustrations, restaurant booths with hospitality-grade Suede, and primary suites with Peel & Stick Linen for that fabric-without-the-fabric look. Filter by project type to find work in your category.
How designers actually use us
A few patterns we see across the designer side of our trade book:
- The half-bath statement wall. A small room where the client wants something memorable. Botanical and abstract patterns from the library on Pre-Pasted, often re-colored to match the vanity finish.
- Kids' rooms with custom illustration. A custom artwork upload — frequently a commissioned piece from an illustrator the designer already works with — printed on Peel & Stick Canvas so it can come down when the kid hits a new aesthetic phase.
- Primary suites and dressing rooms. Peel & Stick Linen for the textured, fabric-on-the-wall look without the install complexity of real grasscloth or true linen.
- Boutique commercial — restaurants, salons, small offices. Suede Type II in a custom palette. Soft hand, scrubbable, holds up to commercial cleaning.
If your project doesn't fit one of these patterns, that's fine — your rep will help you talk through material trade-offs.
