The difference between a clean wallpaper install and a callback comes down to two things: the material behaving the way the installer expects, and the panels arriving labeled and sequenced. Applied Coverings prints custom wallpaper with the install crew in mind — every panel numbered, every order documented with material-specific install notes, and direct shipping to job sites or installer accounts. Our trade program supports independent installers and full-service contractors with installer accounts, repeat-order tools, and a dedicated rep who's seen our materials go up on hundreds of walls.

Installer-friendly materials

Five materials, each with its own install method:

  • Pre-Pasted ($5/sqft) — paste-the-wall installation. Activate with water on the wall, hang, smooth. Familiar process for any wallpaper installer.
  • Peel & Stick Canvas ($5.50/sqft) — peel the backing, position, smooth. Repositionable during install — forgiving for tight corners and ceiling alignment.
  • Suede Type II ($6/sqft) — paste-the-back commercial installation. Heavier substrate, requires a clay or premium vinyl-grade adhesive.
  • Terralon Smooth Type II ($6.50/sqft) — paste-the-back, similar adhesive specs to Suede. Smoother face means fewer install marks.
  • Peel & Stick Linen ($7.50/sqft) — peel and apply, like Canvas, but the textured face hides minor install variations exceptionally well.

Panel labeling and sequencing

Every order ships with panels numbered and sequenced left-to-right. For directional patterns or murals, panels arrive in a stack ordered by hang sequence with a layout diagram on top. No guessing which panel goes where, no flipping panels in the field to find the seam match.

Tolerances and dimensions

Practical numbers for planning the install:

  • Bleed — every panel includes a 0.25-inch bleed on each vertical edge for trim during install.
  • Repeat — repeats are documented per pattern; your rep will send the exact horizontal and vertical repeat measurements before production.
  • Overlap vs butt seam — most materials install as butt seams. Suede Type II can be double-cut for a perfectly registered seam; instructions included with the order.
  • Standard panel width — 26 inches for residential; up to 54 inches for Type II commercial materials. Custom widths available for non-standard wall plans.

Direct shipping to job sites and installer accounts

Trade contractors get:

  • Ship-to-job-site as standard, no extra fee. Free shipping nationwide on every trade order.
  • Hold-for-pickup at our San Jose facility for Bay Area installers — useful when the job site isn't ready to receive.
  • Repeat order tools — re-order the exact same SKU and quantity from a previous job in two clicks.
  • Net terms available after the first three orders for established contractors.

What we send with every order

Beyond the panels themselves, every trade order arrives with:

  • A printed packing slip with the project name, panel count, total square footage, and material code
  • The layout diagram for directional patterns and murals — orientation arrows, room reference, panel sequence
  • Material-specific install instructions in the box, plus a link to the latest version online
  • One spare strip of material per pattern (about a foot wide) for color matching and patch repairs
  • A QR code on the packing slip that pulls up the order, the install instructions, and the rep's contact info on a phone

These are the small things that save a callback. The spare strip alone has rescued more touch-up work than we can count.
