Bay Area material recommendations
A few patterns from our experience working SF projects:
- Older Edwardian and Victorian housing stock with intact plaster walls — Pre-Pasted is the right call. The substrate breathes with the wall.

Working with SF designers — what we've learned
A few patterns that come up consistently in conversations with SF interior designers:
- Client expectations are higher. SF clients are usually design-literate and have done their reference research before the first meeting. The design package needs to feel considered. We treat sample requests with that in mind — full-quality prints on the actual material, not generic swatch strips.
- Renovation timelines are unforgiving. Permits, neighbor coordination, and limited contractor availability mean once a project window opens, it has to stay open. Miss the wallpaper install date and the painter pushes, the trim install pushes, and the project moves three weeks. Local printing closes that risk gap.
- Small rooms get the statement. The city's housing stock — Edwardians, Victorians, mid-century apartments — runs heavy on small high-impact rooms. Half-baths, dressing rooms, breakfast nooks. Those are where wallpaper earns its place on the spec.
